— 01 / TYPES OF MASSAGE

Massage with a purpose

Every session is built around an outcome — whether that's recovery from a hard training week, unwinding a chronic neck issue, or keeping you on the road in the middle of marathon prep.

01

Remedial Massage

Assessment-led deep-tissue treatment for specific complaints — low back tightness, neck & shoulder tension, desk-job stiffness, headaches.

  • Deep tissue techniques
  • Trigger point release
  • Myofascial work
  • HICAPS rebate-eligible
02

Sports Massage

Training-focused recovery work. Pre-event flush, post-training recovery, or ongoing maintenance for runners, lifters and weekend athletes.

  • Pre/post-event work
  • Load-specific treatment
  • Running & lifting focus
  • Paired with your training
03

Deep Tissue

Slow, sustained pressure into the deeper muscle layers. For the clients who know they need it and say "go harder" when you're already going hard.

  • Firm sustained pressure
  • Stubborn chronic tightness
  • Postural pain patterns
  • Best in a 45-min session
— 02 / WHY IT MATTERS

Recovery is where progress happens

You don't get stronger in the gym. You get stronger when you recover from the gym. Regular remedial or sports massage isn't a luxury — it's load management for people who actually train.

01

Recover Faster

Reduced DOMS, better circulation, quicker bounce-back between hard sessions.

02

Prevent Injuries

Addressing tightness and imbalance before it turns into a niggle — and before the niggle turns into a six-week layoff.

03

Sleep Better

Most clients report better sleep the night of a session. The nervous system genuinely unwinds.

04

Integrated With Your Training

Our therapists know what your coach is programming and what your physio is treating — so the session adds to, not conflicts with, everything else.

— 04 / WHO IT SUITS

Who books with us

Every kind of Richmond and Melbourne local — but these are the most common.

01

Desk-Job Locals

Cremorne and Hawthorn professionals carrying tension in necks, shoulders and lower backs. Regular 45-min remedial does the work.

02

Runners

Marathon prep, half-marathon training or just the weekend crew. Sports massage keeps calves, IT bands and glutes from breaking down.

03

Lifters & Athletes

Deep tissue between training blocks. Shoulders, thoracics, hips, quads — all the bits that lifting quietly tightens up.

04

Rehab Clients

Alongside physio and clinical pilates. Massage complements the plan without ever contradicting it, because everyone talks.

Massage FAQ

Can I claim remedial massage on private health?

Yes — if your extras cover remedial massage and our therapist is registered with your fund (we work with all major funds), you can claim on the spot via HICAPS. You'll pay the gap only.

What's the difference between remedial and sports massage?

Remedial is treatment-led — it's for fixing a specific problem (e.g. chronic lower back tightness). Sports massage is training-led — it's for recovery, maintenance and keeping you on the road. Most sessions blend both.

How hard is it? I don't love a super-deep massage.

Pressure is always adjusted to you. Deep tissue is a choice, not a default. Tell your therapist at the start and we'll dial it exactly where you want it.

How often should I book in?

If you're training hard: every 2–3 weeks. If you're managing chronic tightness: weekly for the first month, then monthly maintenance. If you're recovering from a hard week: whenever you need it.

Can I book massage without being a PT or group fitness client?

Absolutely. Massage is open to everyone — you don't need to train here. That said, members get 10% off across all recovery services.

Should I train on the same day?

A light session is fine, but we'd avoid heavy lifting or hard running in the 6 hours after a deep-tissue treatment. Gives the nervous system time to settle.

Do you have same-day or after-hours availability?

Yes — we usually have same-day slots midweek and we run until 8pm on weekdays. Weekend mornings (7am–12pm) are very busy, so book ahead.
